Whether you have been doing Botox and Fillers or are considering it, here are Dr. Ghada’s answers:
At what age do you think a young woman should begin using Botox and Fillers?
A woman has the option of starting Botox in their late 20s or early 30s. It is not a must but rather a choice based on each woman's needs. We live in a region where the climate is hot and humid with a high exposure to sun which results in lines and wrinkles. Although we protect ourselves by staying indoors we are still exposed to sun and 80% of its rays. By starting Botox in your early 20s, you prevent static lines from appearing. These frown-lines that appear from muscle contraction get deeper as we age, so the earlier you start Botox the earlier the prevention process begins.
As far as fillers, I prefer the kinds that last about 6 months to the permanent ones. Of course, the most important thing to do is make sure your doctor is using FDA approved fillers otherwise it is definitely not safe. Sit down with your doctor to show them your concerns and needs and based on how much wrinkling you already have or where the wrinkles seem to be appearing, you and your Doctor can discuss the best options to get you the youthful appearance that you desire. Whether you decide to go with Botox and Fillers or opt out, protecting yourself from the sun is always a must.
