When you think of lips these days it’s hard not to think of Kylie Jenner. The last time I remember using a lip liner, was probably in High School. Lip liner pretty much faded out and lip gloss took over. In the past year, lip gloss has been dying out and Matte lipsticks have been making a comeback. Heading this trend is Kylie Jenner who is responsible for selling out Soar and Whirl lip liners from MAC Cosmetics stores worldwide.
Although some may argue that Kylie has had lip injections, the focus on big lips has not only boomed sales in lip liner but lip plumpers as well. Lancer Cosmetics makes a lip plumper that has plenty of loyal customers, some even buying a couple of tubes at once. The trick with the lip liner look is to overdraw right above the middle of the lip (just above the cupid's bow) to exaggerate the pout. Also, overdraw on the center of the bottom lip and add just a touch of gloss to the center. Matte lipstick is the best match with this overdrawn lip liner look since it usually has more staying power than a creamier finish. Beware, however, most of the lip plumpers sting a bit, so be careful when using this before a smooch.
