The collaboration of the year has just been announced as San Francisco tech giant Apple and French powerhouse Hermès introduce the Apple Watch Hermès. The new collection of watches features Apple’s innovative technology and Hermès’ craftsmanship and design heritage with a stainless steel face and fine leather band in signature Hermès styles such as the Single Tour, Double Tour and Cuff.

“Both companies are motivated by a sincere pursuit of excellence and the desire to create something that is not compromised. Apple Watch Hermès is a true testament to that belief,” explains Jonathan Ive, Apple’s chief design officer.

The collection includes the Single Tour, offered in fauve Barenia leather, noir Box leather or capucine Swift leather with the choice of a 38mm steel case, whereas the 42mm case comes in either fauve Barenia leather or noir Box leather. The Double Tour features a 38mm steel case and comes in additional colors of blue jean and étain. The Cuff features a 42mm case and will only be introduced in fauve leather. Hermès’ signature etching is featured on all steel cases and offers consumers the ability to customize the face with three dial designs inspired by their well-known watches; Clipper, Cape Cod and Espace Hermès.

“We are strongly united by the same deeply held ideas and principles. I see it as the establishment of an alliance of excellence; like horse and carriage, a perfect team,” said Pierre-Alexis Dumas, Hermès’ executive vice-president in charge of artistic direction.
