It’s always quite amazing to see a brand like Givenchy, which has been around for over 60 years now, continuously remain current while staying true to itself.

This season, the brand commemorated the 14th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorists’ attacks by choosing quite a unique décor made of recycled material to present its show. Artist Marina Abramović created a freedom tower backdrop, and staged living art installations, including a man climbing a ladder into the sky.

As for the clothes, designer Riccardo Tisci was also inspired by freedom and crafted rather liberating garbs, which were greatly admired by front-rowers, including Kanye West and Julia Roberts.

Opening looks revealed silk lingerie, which was worn as everyday attire. See-through lace dominated the show and morphed into petite dresses and robes. The sensual black and white collection evidently exposed quite a bit of skin, and yet managed to remain effortlessly sophisticated. Sleek tuxedos made an appearance and reminded us of their ageless elegance.

And while plumes don’t quite connote summer, fur covered black bustier dresses and ostridge feathers grew on white gowns. Tisci truly did feel free as a bird this season.
