Looking back in history, women from Egyptian, Indian and Persian cultures have been using an eyeliner known as "sormeh" to enhance their eyes. This dark colored powder made of crushed ancient products can be found today in the modern version of Guerlain's Terracotta Loose Powder Kohl. Using the eyes as a tool for seduction dates back centuries but be careful not to go too over the top with this.

Make sure to book a trial with your makeup artist on a day like your bridal shower to make sure you figure out how dramatic or soft you want to go on the big day. It's also important to take a few photos to make sure your look will photograph well. Don't be afraid to speak up at your appointments and give the artist feedback. Also pay attention to your make up at the end of the event and see if it lasted. The big day only happens once so it’s best to make sure you cover all bases and ensuring that the makeup is flawless on your special wedding day.
