Richard Mille Introduces the Evil Eye Symbol in Tourbillon RM 26-02

From early history until today, the concept of Evil Eye is a part of every culture.  Considered a universal symbol of foreboding, it can only be fought through various protective talismans, such as the Eye of Horus amulet or the Irish four-leaf clover. This year, Richard Mille finds inspiration in this lasting motif to introduce a new talisman protecting against the negative energies by creating new watch.

Designed by Geneva’s renowned craftsman Olivier Vaucher, the Evil Eye RM 26-02 Tourbillon watch is made of red gold with hand-carved flames and eye, using specially-made chisels to perfect the smallest details. The eye’s depth and realism is the result of the art of grand feu enameling, as the motif is painted on the gold dial using various rare oxides, before being delicately fired at a temperature ranging from 800 to 900oC.

Finished with several layers of transparent lacquer, the latter creates a visual depth that could not be achieved by any other means. Introduced with a manual winding movement and a 50-hour power reserve, the Evil Eye finds its place at the heart of the RM 26-02 caliber tourbillon.

Exclusively available in the 25 Richard Mille boutiques worldwide, the RM 26-02 is a limited edition of 25 timepieces in black TZP ceramic.
