A. Lange & Söhne’s New Designs Hit SIHH

by Mirella Haddad

This year, Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) will feature 7 new designs from German luxury watch manufacturer A. Lange & Söhne. The timepieces will be displayed at the prestigious watch trade show in Geneva from January 19th till January 23rd.

Launched in 2012, the Datograph Up/Down is available now in a pink gold case with a black solid-silver dial. The timepiece includes innovative features such as a classic column-wheel control mechanism, a precisely jumping minute counter and a flyback function. The balanced dial layout reflects the caliber’s high quality. The black dial made of solid silver is embedded in an 18-carat pink-gold case with a diameter of 41.0 millimeters.

Since 2006, the Datograph Perpetual has been known for combining a flyback chronograph and a perpetual calendar. With its white-gold case and grey dial, this timepiece features an oversized date, day of the week and month that don’t require any adjustment untill the year of 2100.

The Lange 1 has been the face of the German brand since 1994. In its new edition, the timepiece has been endowed with a technically evolved manually wound caliber.
The Saxonia timepiece was launched 20 years ago. In its new design, the solid-gold hour markers have been moved toward the dial periphery and the case size was slightly reduced to become 35.0 millimeters.

A part of Saxonia family, the Saxonia Automatic’s case size was reduced to 38.5 millimeters. The tens markers of the subsidiary seconds dial have been endowed with numerals for improved legibility.

Saxonia Dual Time’s case size was also reduced to 38.5 millimeters. As its name indicates, this timepiece is the perfect companion for those who travel constantly thanks to its dual time system.

In the new edition of Zeitwerk Minute Repeater, the time is displayed with an hour ring and two minute discs instead of with hands. To maximize the quality of the sound, the engineers calibrated the movement with the case down to the smallest detail.
