American label Tom Ford traveled to the Mediterranean coast to explore the region’s flowers and create the captivating Fleur de Portofino fragrance. The fourth eau de parfum in the Neroli Portofino collection is an audacious yet innocent mix of floral scents, honey and orange. This exquisite mix complements the fresh vibrancy of Neroli Portofino, the oceanic woodiness of Costa Azzurra and the citrus-herbal sparkle of Mandarino di Amalfi.
Inspired by the white acacia trees that line the tranquil Italian avenues, Fleur de Portofino features a bright floral accord surrounded by effervescent citruses and acacia honey. The citrus essence constitutes the perfume’s top note, followed by a blend of Sicilian lemon, mandarin from Sorrento, Calabrese bergamot and juicy tangerine. This fusion is enhanced by a body of bigarade, an inedible bitter orange, for a touch of depth, while a Violet leaf absolute Orpur® accord wraps the mix with its green vegetal nuances. Syringa, also known as mock orange flower, enhances the floral opening notes with fresh scents of honeysuckle and green gardenia buds.
White acacia blossom is at the heart of the fragrance, which combines notes of cassie tree and mimosa with white petal magnolia, orange flower Templar, Moroccan rose absolute and jasmine “grandiflorum”. While cistus absolute lends the perfume a golden touch, vanilla absolute and Tolumalsam give it balsamic warmth.
Fleur de Portofino is packed in a light-blue version of the turquoise Neroli bottle. Labeled with a gold name plaque and finished with a golden cord at the neck, this perfume embodies the Italian woman with a deep desire to be noticed and possessed.
