This week, Swarovski hosted its very first Sparkling Couture exhibition to celebrate the brand’s long-standing relationship with regional and international couture designers. Held at the Madinat Arena, the exhibition displayed exquisite collections by 35 couturiers, as well as 6 jewelry and accessory brands from the Middle East and South Asia.
Each designer showcased one piece they created exclusively for the event, in order to highlight their creative and innovative use of Swarovski crystals. The creations were on display under five themes: Bridal Wear, Ethnic Wear, Evening Wear, Modest Wear and statement jewelry and accessories.
Chosen for their excellence in their respective design fields, an eclectic group of designers came together to display their stunning creations. The Modest Wear section featured designs by Saudi brand Al Shal, Emirati brand Hanayen and Kuwaiti brand Shadow – to name a few, while the Evening Wear displayed impressive pieces by the likes of Emirati designer Fatema Al Fardan and Iranian Zohreh Najari. The Bridal Wear section featured a global selection of talent; the names included, Georges Hobeika from Lebanon, Steven Khalil from Australia, Ziad Antoun from Kuwait, and Iconic from Thailand. Ethnic Wear also saw the likes of Elan from Pakistan and SuneetVerma from India.
The jewelry and accessories section ends this journey into the Sparkling world of Swarovski with a selection of jewelry pieces created by 77th from Thailand, Amrapali Jewelry from India, Joy Shoes from India, Kanokkorn Lamlert from Thailand, Mashizan Shoes from Singapore and Sirena from Thailand.
