There are so many different brands of toners out there, but why do you even need one? Your skin's Ph Balance should ideally be at 5.5, and washing your face can sometimes disrupt this. Once I wash my face, I like to use toner with a cotton pad to get that final wipe to make sure my skin is completely free of dirt oil and make up. Here are a few of my favorites.
The first toner I ever used is still one of my favorites. Kiehl's Calendula Herbal-Extract Alcohol-Free Toner is gentle and doesn't dry out your skin, even though it is for oily skin. My favorite part of this soothing toner is not only how it feels, but I love the floating Calendula flowers in the bottle!
For dry skin, I choose the Lancôme Tonique Confort Comforting Rehydrating Toner. I watched my mom use this for years, since she is a longtime fan of Lancôme skincare products. Like the name says, it just comforts and soothes skin adding back any lost hydration. I admit, I also love that it's pink; when the products are cute and appealing to the eye, it just makes me want to use them more! Hey, whatever it takes!
La Mer's The Tonic has a "Miracle Broth" that revives your skin. I love using this before my Creme de La Mer Moisturizing Cream, the combo makes my skin feel so luxurious.
When we talk about toners we can't forget Clinique. After all, they are the first ones who taught us to cleanse, tone and moisturize. Clinique Clarifying Lotion sweeps away dull skin and is gentle enough to use in the morning and at night.
Have you already been using toners and want something more powerful? SK-II Facial Treatment Clear Lotion not only cleans dirt but it also exfoliates. We usually think only scrubs exfoliate but with ingredients like AHA and Pitera™, you can reveal your new skin and help your products penetrate more effectively.
Avoid the eye area when using a toner, but the rest of your face will feel so pampered and refreshed. Every step counts in skincare so always make time, rain or shine, morning or night.
