My number one skin care and make up issue is my T zone area, specifically my nose. I grew up having dry skin so this problem kind of just came out of nowhere. If you have this problem too, I have done the research and will help you control it.

Let’s start off with the skincare. First and foremost, we need to keep our pores super clean so they don't look bigger than they really are. After I wash my face, I dab Rare Earth Pore Refining Tonic by Kiehl's with a cotton swab. Instead of swiping it all around, I dab it to control the oil. I don't use this all over my face. You might be thinking this is so high maintenance, and I completely agree but I would rather take a few steps to fix this problem than deal with large pores, which only seem to be getting worse with age.

Ok let's focus on the solution. Another great way to help with these pores and oily areas is by using a weekly mask. Whether it's diet, hormones or climate changes, sometimes these areas can get oilier than usual. I like to spend about 5 extra minutes using the Clinique Acne Solutions Oil-Control Cleansing Mask. Although we are getting rid of oil, it's important to still use a light moisturizer, perhaps an oil free one.

So you've taken care of your skin but after a few hours, the make up on your noise is getting shinier by the minute.  The old fashioned way to fix this was to go "powder your nose."

Thanks to primers we can prevent this from happening. I didn't really think this would work until I tried it myself. MAC Oil Control Lotion is your new best friend. So many women have this problem and the good news is there is a solution! A mattifying primer is great for all over if you have normal to Oily skin, or just for the T zone area, if that's where you get oily.

If you find yourself feeling super oily throughout the day no matter what you do, do not leave home without a set of blotting sheets. Bobbi Brown really thinks of everything! Her  Blotting Papers  come with a little mirror so you can get shine free anywhere!

An oily T zone can be an embarrassing issue to deal with but the good news is it's manageable. Try cleaning up your diet to see how your skin reacts. I have noticed that when I eat too much dairy or junk, this becomes more of a problem. Keep your hands off your face and keep your skin as clean as possible. With the right routine your skin will start looking balanced and even in no time.
