Every year, designers from all around the world explore that tiny gap between the Autumn/Winter and Spring/Summer with the one and only Cruise Collection. But this cruise season, designers have stamped their footwear collections with the utmost creativity and style. So prepare your getaway outfit and step into the holiday season with flair!

As you will surely notice, the footwear collections are nothing but a mere representation of the designers’ recent travels. A bit of sun from Africa, a tad of exoticism from South America and maybe just a glimpse of the Mediterranean breeze and there you have it, a gorgeous ferris wheel of countless gorgeous shoes.

While footwear designer Edgardo Osorio of Aquazzura drew inspiration from his last visit to Turkey, etching the byzantine style and vivid colors onto the collection, he also used globetrotter and model Poppy Delevingne as his muse. Another designer, Alessandro Dell’Acqua, revisits the most sought-after styles such as The Ronny mules by N21 and adds a hint of Masaii print to them. As for Brian Atwood, he makes use of his Mexican heritage by designing his collection with Frida Kahlo on his mind.

While the collections are yet another stop in the fashion journey for some designers, they are also an introductory rite for others, as the fashion world is now introduced to the emerging brand, Brother Vellies, winner of the CFDA award.
