Jo Malone Introduces Orris & Sandalwood Cologne Intense

Jo Malone London always surprises us with its fragrance dualities that somehow captivate us with one smell. This season, the perfume house introduces a woody-floral fusion by mixing between Orris and Sandalwood in its new cologne.

The scent of Tuscan hillsides mingles with blooming irises, while Orris’ woody intensity is mixed with the creamy sandalwood and sensual amber. The scent of violet opens the fragrance, the Orris finds its place at the cologne’s heart and the sandalwood constitutes its base.

“We wanted to work with orris because it’s an extremely precious ingredient in perfumery. Orris is the root of the iris plant and it has been harvested in Tuscany for centuries, originally by monks. This scent was about framing the orris to bring out its unique duality; it is both woody and powdery, floral and deep. We achieved this by using other woods as well as painting a picture of the iris flower itself,” expressed master perfumer Pierre Négrin.
