There’s no better way to celebrate the Chinese Year of the Monkey, than with a brand new charmed watch. This year, much to our pleasure, Chopard is dedicating a new exclusive L.U.C XP timepiece to the Chinese zodiac.
A one-of-a-kind Urushi lacquered dial hand-crafted in Japan is what sets this watch apart. Its masterful dial depicts a monkey gathering eight peaches, which is a popular Chinese scene believed to bring good luck. While the peach symbolizes good health, the number eight brings luck.
Chopard brings this meaningful scene to life through a red-coated monkey perched on a fruitful branch, gathering peaches under a gold-toned sky enlightened by the last sunrays before sunset. Soft golden valleys constitute a warm background and are in line with the 18-carat rose-gold case. This timepiece features a black alligator strap and is packaged in a special octagon-shaped box that includes motifs using Urushi techniques.
Continuously searching for excellence, Chopard has worked with the firm Yamada Heiando, the official Urushi supplier to the Japanese imperial family. Known for the finesse of his art, Master Kiichiro Masumura has designed all the dials and supervised their implementation by Urishi master Minori Koizumi.
The Far Eastern mastery comes together with the Swiss heritage in this Chopard high timepiece, since the unique dial comes in a L.U.C XP case with a transparent back.
