Fashion connoisseurs have seen a lot during the week of Haute Couture, but Rami Kadi’s captivating spring collection might just have heightened the fashion bar. The Lebanese couturier pushed further beyond his sensual and alluring comfort zone with the beautiful “La Primavera by Botticelli”, channeling an absolutely flawless set of moods.
Look closely at Kadi’s collection, and you will see the bed of spring, the mesmerizing beading and embellishments of a sun dazed line that is the remarkable designer’s Haute Couture Spring Summer Collection 2016.
Perceived as an evocation of the blooming season, Kadi’s collection was an ode to the woman on the verge of enchantment, not afraid to set herself free from contemporary powers. This vivacious line gushed embroidered gowns made out entirely of delicate Chantilly lace, armor-plated with royal capes and trains of the highest caliber. Moving his unquestionable talent forward, the designer played every single design approach, from embroidered birds to shiny pearls and metaphorical feathers. He even called out for a slight double entendre to the magic of spring, featuring birds made out of beads, intricately embellished, and beautifully adorning the precious materials. It was as if they were about to come out to the crowd and whisper sweet nothings into their ears. Using a tad of raffia from here and a glimpse of baked paillettes from there, Kadi frothed his gowns with the abiding love of a rainbow-y nature. Colors skewed breezy off-white hues in a stir of multi-colored sequins, and surely, yellow and red coming-to-life birds
In trading last season’s wedding dress veil for a boisterous cape, the designer reached new helms of artistry and luxurious crafting. The bridal dress itself was a chef d’oeuvre, handcrafted with the most prestigious of touches, taking up to 4 months of restless work to complete. The result was clearly a penultimate look, an obvious déchiffrage of the Wow factor.
The Plaza Athénée presentation was a cascade of bedazzling looks, taking part of what would surely be a moment of sheer triumph for the young Lebanese designer. Rami Kadi has observably flown to extremes, bathing his marvelous collection- and the rest of the attendees- in beauty and wonder.
