Boucheron’s Latest Collection Previewed at Baselworld 2015

by Leonore Dicker

For its latest collection, Boucheron has “I only count joyful hours” engraved on each of its watches. These words, expressed by Frédéric Boucheron himself truly reflect the watches’ new goal:  marking good times rather than just noting the passage of time.

New models this year include:

Boucheron’s Epure collection, which first launched two years ago with gold strong-lined watches, is now introducing 6 new steel models, for an even more modern result.

Other novelties include the Epure D’Art collection, which stunningly embodies Paris and nature through two new sets:
-Plume de Paon, which mingles cut stones and wild ivy resulting in a dazzling tourbillon that juxtaposes two opposites: the bright city life and the soothing nature

-Lierre de Lumière timepiece, which hides a watch beneath sculpted gold foliage, decorated with an openwork design and set with diamonds.

Serpent Bohème is a thin, sophisticated set, which was first introduced in 1968. The line’s new take on this classic incorporates a case, available both in white or yellow gold, and a gold bracelet or a satin strap. This constantly evolving set keeps adapting itself to the modern woman.

Reflet
This golden jewel was first launched in the fifties and has made a comeback in 2014. With its double gadroons in yellow gold set with diamonds, this watch truly embodies timeless elegance. Gérard Boucheron, the grandson of Frédéric and creator of this timeless piece said: ‘When I look at my Reflet, I am looking not at the time but rather at my watch’.

Khépri à Secret
By mixing white gold, rubies, mother-of-pearl and diamonds with a satin strap, Khépri à Secret makes quite an impression.  A secret mechanism releases a movement that sets the piece in motion, opening up the wings to reveal the dial. Only la crème de la crème of jewelers were involved in creating this stunning piece – which is worthy of the chicest of ladies.

Epure Tourbillon Ama
Like a fish swimming in the endless ocean, time never sits still. This piece, which sees a three-dimensional diamond fish swimming in a blue mother-of-pearl backdrop, embodies freedom and femininity.
