Florence Welsh, Face of Gucci Jewelry and Timepieces

With their clear approach to design and aesthetics, Gucci’s watches have become iconic since the early 1970s. Keeping up with this vision, this year’s collection called for a face such as British musician Florence Welsh – who was appointed by the brand in a private press conference in Los Angeles.

Florence was interviewed by famed British broadcaster and journalist Alexa Chung, who also took over the brand’s Snapchat to capture Gucci’s partnership with its new ambassador.

“Florence has become a good friend, but I wanted to work with her primarily because she is an exciting artist. Her dark, romantic songs are timeless and full of passion and emotion – in many ways they evoke the spirit of Gucci,” commented Alessandro Michele.

The event also witnessed the unveiling of Gucci’s latest timepiece, the G-Timeless automatic, that Welsh wore. This watch embodies the vibrant creativity of the brand’s celebrated creative director through a combination of decorative bees, a heart and stars.

Florence also chose a bangle and a mix of rings from Gucci Jewelry’s Icon, Marché des Merveilles and Flora collections stacked together to reflect her personal style and taste. The rings come in 18-carat yellow and pink gold ornamented with precious stones, diamonds or motifs like the honeybee.

“I am a magpie, and when Alessandro and I first met we bonded over our love for jewelry. I truly believe that what he is creating at Gucci today is magic, and I am so excited to be part of it,” expressed Welsh.
