Peter Dundas promised divine decadence for his collection held at the Società del Giardino di Milano, and divine decadence via the free spirited bohemia of the 70's is exactly what we got. This was the original Cavalli girl at heart with that Dundas signature twist and supermodel Natasha Poly manning the Cavalli snapchat account with tantalising pre-show teasers.

The palazzo courtyard lit by hundreds of candles was completed with a violinist, the catwalk was lined with gilt edged chairs and enormous crystal chandeliers dangling up above and animal prints took over the collection. There was lots of it, from leopard print fur coats to slinky tiger striped midi skirts and calf length snakeskin platform boots. The original spring/summer Cavalli squad has ditched the 80s for an Easy Rider road trip with high-waisted flared trousers in velvets and suedes, cropped embellished jackets and rich brocade coats.

And the dresses! Boho babes met screen sirens. An off-the-shoulder tiered and ruffled gown in canary yellow cascaded down the catwalk. Peekaboo fabrics, cut-away waist details and a crystal encrusted barely-there-gown ensured the spirit of the original Cavalli girl is alive and kicking in 2016.
