Forget about paisley, Veronica Etro has gone all floral for the season of Fall/Winter 2016-2017. The famed designer has propelled front-rowers to a botanical paradise with her Ready-to-Wear collection.

Known for its lush and vibrant patterns, the Italian brand brought forth an ideally avant-gardist wardrobe that bathed both in floral prints and velvet inserts. You’d expect the first model to be donning a discrete outfit but it was quite the opposite, as the first silhouette was a colorful explosion of prints and patterns, where stripes meet the classic tartan print. And one by one, models strutted down the runway in long airy floral dresses, mixed-and-matched with extra-long striped scarves and maxi coats. Veronica Etro embraced the brand’s heritage by creating oh-so-beautifully a patchwork of patterns here and there and more specifically by adding layers upon layers of garments to each silhouette. You could definitely sense a bit of edge with the neo-punk leather jackets, but they were all balanced off with just a tad of the floral Etro-like twist. The designer certainly brought zest to the endeavor by compelling different tartan prints to a luscious mix in just one outfit, or even by adding a velvet touch to the garments. One number in particular stood out, featuring a cropped striped sweater over a floral midi dress.

It will be really interesting to see what Veronica Etro does for spring, when she can really have a go at airy floral dresses.
