Known for her Italian expertise, shoe designer Farah Sultan is not one to shy away from whimsical footwear. And now, the emerging Kuwaiti designer is taking over one of the biggest luxury retailers, Harvey Nichols Kuwait.
Her Spring-Summer 2016 collection is like an allusion of the botanical world, mixed-and-matched with the pop fantasy culture of the 80’s. The collection draws on floral aspirations, painting a colorful canvas of 3D leather flowers in pink, turquoise and violet. Another model features a patent leather cone-heeled sandal completed with a leafy ankle strap. Orchids and cherry blossom flowers find their way into designs in the most beautiful and intricate forms of embroideries, while the staple black and white stripes invade inner soles.
Colors skew from citrine, rose gold, tangerine, turquoise and pink, adding a bit of an Italian-meets-botanical energy to the Arnaa shoes and putting into sight Sultan’s fascination with the magical world of botany.
