As a loyal fan of the Nars Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer, the release of the Nars Velvet Matte Skin Tint was groundbreaking news. I love the dewy, natural look of the tinted moisturizer and wear it every single day, but I also have been admiring the flawless matte looks, but not loving the heavy looking powder that goes with it. The natural look of the tinted moisturizer with a matte finish? This sounded pretty magical so I made a quick dash to Sephora to check this out.

I love that the Velvet Matte Skin Tint SPF 30/PA+++ protects my skin from the sun and makes it look flawless at the same time. The Nars exclusive Velvet Illusion Complex still gives a glow although it’s matte. It also feels really light while wearing it, you almost forget you have it on, and after a long day I came home to see that it really stayed in place.

So what’s in it? Rose Fruit Extract, which minimizes the appearance of pores and Vitamin C,E. What more could a girl ask for? I will probably be switching back and forth between this and the Tinted Moisturizer since that does have a lighter coverage which is great when you’re out and about running errands. The Velvet Matte Skin Tint I could see myself using day and night as well. If you’re wondering it it’s ok to wear this on a night out since it has SPF (which can cause a reflection when photographed) snap away because the NARS SPF doesn’t do that. Tip: St. Moritz is a universal shade.
