After specializing in professional makeup for fashion and TV in Madrid, Patricia Cuesta soon became the go-to makeup artist and started leading master classes around the world. Her career is all about working on the set of major beauty shoots and teaching women the way to look flawless while staying true to their own style.
This year, Patricia had the chance the visit Dubai for the first time and Azyaamode had the opportunity to know more about her vision for makeup evolution and her brand, Too Faced.
How do you think makeup has evolved since the start of your career?
Over the years makeup has evolved so much, for example thin brows to full arched brows, dark lip pencils with pale shimmery lipsticks, the 90s were a crazy time. Now we are so social savvy and every woman and man is obsessed with Instagram and Facebook videos sharing tips and techniques about new ways to use and wear make up. People are not afraid to wear make up and they just want to look beautiful.
Makeup holds a very important place in a woman’s life. How can a woman create a signature look for herself with makeup?
At Too Faced we are so proud of women owning their beauty, so be true to yourself, have fun and wear color.
How do you describe your work on the set of major beauty photo shoots?
Being someone who likes to plan things ahead of time, I like to know my model, get inspiration from things around me, people, friends, film, icon bombshells! Then I can create my magic.
What are the brands you worked with so far during your career?
Being a junky, I have shared my love with many brands like MAC, Ben NYE, stage, Shu Uemera and Sephora brands.
Can you tell us more about your experience with “Too Faced”?
The last 10 years have been absolutely amazing; it's been a dream come true! From working in Spain then across Europe and now all over the world, together, myself and the brand have reached new heights. It's like being a part of a super pink family.

Due to your work, you must travel regularly. Can you tell us about your favorite destination?

Is it your first visit to the Middle East? What did you like the most about this region?
Yes, it's my first trip and I am so happy to be in Dubai, as it has always been my dream to come here. The people are so welcoming and friendly. The women are so beautiful and glamorous.
