Isn’t it amazing how a single scent can bring back so many memories? Let’s go down memory lane with some timeless classics.
My mother's first fragrance growing up was Miss Dior and mine was Diorissimo. There's something about a Dior fragrance that not only makes you feel pretty and feminine, but also reminds you to act like a proper young lady.
As I became a little bit older I wanted something with a little more edge and opted for Chanel Allure. It has the perfect balance of soft and strong just like a woman in her 20s.
A scent that I still use today every summer is the Dolce Gabbana Light Blue. I love the citrus notes in this super clean scent. The perfect mix of feminine and masculine, this scent will always be a favorite.
I am obsessed with anything Vanilla but sometimes the sweetness of the scent can make you smell like baked goods. This might be a good thing but sometimes too much vanilla can be total overkill. With that said, my latest obsessions have been the Tom Ford fragrances. Tobacco Vanille has this soft Vanilla scent with a powerful tobacco leaf that gives off this mysterious seduction. Another scent I can’t get enough of is the Velvet Orchid. I literally can’t stop smelling myself when I wear this because it’s the perfect blend of vanilla, citrus and floral in one scent. Definitely both evening or winter perfumes.
Last but not least, YSL Opium. I have a love hate relationship with this perfume. My mother has been wearing this perfume for at least 30 years. It’s so strong that sometimes it becomes overwhelming. But at the same time, when I go to visit her and she's not home, I can literally smell her in the hallways or in her bedroom, and that gives my heart absolute joy.
Whether it’s a timeless classic or a new released scent, find a scent that captures your essence in a bottle. Just like you are always evolving, your scent should also evolve with you.
