La Répétition, For the Love of Fashion and Dance

It’s in a deeply-rooted artistic endeavor that the French designer Christian Louboutin has celebrated the debut of the Autumn/Winter 2016 collection with the short film “La Répétition”, directed by Blanca Li, the famed choreographer, dancer and filmmaker and shot by Rene Habermacher in Paris.

Throughout the short movie, Blanca Li takes on the all-too real role choreographer, accompanied by a cast of professional dancers. Indeed, the movie is inspired by “A Chorus Live”, a film that originally premiered on Broadway in 1975, depicting seventeen dancers in the challenging Broadway-world.

But let’s go back to “La Répétition”, where the whole cast is glamorously dressed in Christian Louboutin AW16 styles. Constantly drawing inspirations form dancing themes, Louboutin has never failed to deliver breathtaking collections.

Blanca Li stated “Louboutin shoes are not just to look at or to keep still in a nice position, you can go out all night and dance!”

This marvelous endeavor is not the first between the two art lovers, as Louboutin shoes were featured back in 2015 on Li’s stage in “Robot”. Seeing as they’re both big fans of each other, Li commented “I love it, he knows what he wants and at the same time, he gives you the freedom to create; he gives you trust and that is very important. When there is trust, there is also complicity and that makes you push your goals further.”

Louboutin commented on his work with Blanca Li: “The secret is to let things come the way they do naturally, with no strains or limits…and then let’s see. But the number one rule is ‘Let’s have fun!”.

Well Christian Louboutin, we sure are having fun watching your artistic touch!
