Turbans: The Do’s and Dont’s

Primarily known as a customary accessory, the iconic turban has found its way to the fashion scene as it creates new stylish habits. We’ve seen this headpiece on many divas, from Elizabeth Taylor, Donna Summers, to Cara Delevingne; but it never seemed as convincing and appealing as when Jennifer Lopez wore it!

Turbans, characterized by authenticity and eclecticism, soon found an enthusiastic public. Fashion mavens drenched themselves in this fury by wearing turbans to the beach with kimonos and swimsuits or even mixed-and-matched with a cocktail dress! It was all too clear: these headpieces are extremely versatile, not to mention that for those of us with unruly manes, their inwardly round shape makes them the perfect solution for a bad hair day!

So ladies, here’s our own little list of do’s and don’ts when you find yourselves craving for a little Turban-affair!

Do wear your turban while letting your hair hang loose or even donning a natural wavy coiffure.

Don’t wear a patterned turban with patterned clothes; it’s the worst equation ever! Make sure you don a basic outfit as to neutralize the bold effect of your headpiece.

Do match your turban with big earrings, as to add to its irreverent glamor

Don’t pick a leather or a plastic turban. It is not a trash bag nor a shower cap, it’s a disco-era headpiece.

Don’t try out a funky hairstyle while wearing your turban. It is already one step away from funky-town as it is, don’t push it over the edge. Either toss your hair altogether in a little knot and cover it with a turban, or just let it loose!

Do pair your turban with stylish shades, from retro sunnies to minimalist aviators.

Welcome back you beautiful, beautiful head wrap!
