Dark Secrets

Whether you played with your pimple or tanned without using SPF, you might notice a dark spot on your skin that almost looks like a shadow. These lingering dark spots are embarrassing but we can absolutely heal them, and in the meantime we can totally conceal them.

Using a few drops of Kiehl's Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution, pat this on your skin before your moisturizer focusing on the problem areas. Within a few days you will notice brighter skin thanks to the Vitamin C and Peony extract (another reason to love Peonies). This also prevents future dark spots as well.

If you want something intense and can commit to a 28 day routine, Chanel Le BLanc Intensive Night Brightening Treatment is similar to those used by Japanese women.

To conceal dark spots use a warmer tone to cancel out the darkness. Too Faced Absolutely Flawless Concealer is buildable so you can control how much you need. I like using a damp Beauty Blender to make this look even.

If you have dark circles, a peachy toned concealer like the Bobbi Brown Corrector is perfect.

If your foundation is more of a yellow tone, you’re on the right track. Take this to the next level by starting off with a yellow primer like the Lancôme Miracle CC Cushion - Color Correcting Primer in #4. I usually apply this on my cheekbones which is where most of my sun damage has occurred.

Last but not least, don’t pick at your pimples and always apply sunscreen!
