Evening eyes in 5 Steps

What’s the first thing you think of for a nightime eyeshadow look? Dark, glamorous black eyeshadow? So don’t just smear on a dark shade and run out the door. Here are a few tips for a nightime eyeshadow look.

Think of this look as layers on layers.

Step 1- Always start with a light color as a base. Instead of a powder, I like to use either a concealer or an eye base such as Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Eyeshadow Base. I love this because it hides any discoloration and also makes my shadows stay in place.

Step 2-Darken up your crease with a dark brown tone like Lancôme Color Design Infinité 24 Hour in COLOR: 104 EXTREME ESPRESSO. I know we talked about black earlier but we will get to that later. Rich brown is just as intense and we can darken it up more later. I like using a longwearing shadow for a night time look so it doesn’t move around. Blend this out fast because once it’s dry you’re commited!

Step 3-Use a shimmery champagne color to enhance the shape of your eye. Lighter in the inner corner and dark at the edges. Dior Diorshow Mono Eyeshadow 658 Cosmopolite is a beautiful shade use for this.

Step 4-Now we can use black. Use a matte black eyeshadow with an angled brush to line the eyes. DOLCE & GABBANA Perfect Mono Cream Eye Colour in Lava is nice and rich. Once you’re done lining, take a look and see if you want to add intensity. Use your crease brush to add black at the outer edges to darken up the brown if you decided to go for it.

Step 5- Use the same shade from Step 2 underneath your eyes, close to the lash line to intensify.
