Whether you are guilty of one or all of the following mistakes, don’t worry we have all been there. Like everything else is life, makeup – and everything that goes with it – is a learning process. It takes time and trial and error to figure out what works for you. That purple lip liner from high school may not work for you anymore, so make sure you are constantly updating your makeup with your lifestyle, age and season.
Don’t:
Use the wrong shade of foundation and don’t forget to blend at your neck
Use a concealer that can be mistaken for a flashlight! Ladies please go a shade darker and don’t just do half circles under your eye (so guilty of this one when first discovering concealer)
Use too much powder
Apply an orangey bronzer all over (we all have had a Jlo glow experience)
Use too much blush (still guilty of this one)
Fill in brows with the wrong shade and go too dark
Apply shimmer eyeshadow on the crease
Use a lipstick that is way too light
Do:
Make sure your foundation matches not only your skin but the rest of your body as well
Use a warm concealer instead of a yellow one to cancel out darkness
Wait for your foundation to dry and just powder areas that look like they might get oily
Use bronzer only on areas that would actually get sunburned
Focus blush only above the cheek don’t go too far down
Use a very light hand when doing brows and blend away excess
Use a matte shade in your crease for a more natural look
Do darken up your light lipstick with a lip liner instead of tossing it out
