Lebanese designer Donna Hourani is a rising star in the jewelry world. After becoming a mother of two, she decided to stop her career in interior architecture and pursue her passion for designing jewels. Both art and dance inspire every piece she creates and her attention to detail is at the heart of her designs that bring together minimalism and luxury.

For her debut jewelry collection, Donna Hourani redefines the concept of wearable art. Her certificate from the Gemology Institute of America leads her way in choosing the finest materials and precious stones that steal the heart of a woman from the very first glimpse.

Tell us about your startup story and why you specifically chose jewelry?
I always knew that I was more inclined towards design and arts. Since I had my kids, it was a challenge to get back into what I used to do, which was Interior Architecture, because of the long hours I spent away from home and the heavy work load. So once I was ready to go back to the career world, designing jewelry was the perfect idea because I really enjoy the process.

This is your first collection, so tell us more about your key pieces. Also, what should we expect to see in future collections?
Every piece I have designed is quite unique and different in its own way. I do have some signature pieces, such as the DH Signature earrings, which look like my Logo icon repeated in different colored gemstones and goldAlso, the Dew on Tendril series and the single ear pieces that dress the ear from top to bottom will be seen a lot.

How many collections do you hope to launch per year? Is there a set timeline?
I design by inspiration and piece by piece, so you’ll see new designs coming out throughout the year.
