On the very last day of NYFW, Marc Jacobs presented his Spring 2017 collection and it was metallic-licious! Aside from the fact that models had their hair done in an ever-so messy way- think dreadlocks and bun -, the looks were inherently colorful, fitting into the mold of the hundreds of light bulbs hanging from the ceiling. The motto seemed pretty clear there: dress with conviction…or just sport uber mini high-waisted shorts with huge platforms boots and a Victorian blouse! The pastel color palette-turned-bright was a playful reminder of the importance of kaleidoscopic prints and tones, as it was lavishly mixed with sky-high boots, bomber jackets and over-the-knee fantasy socks. There were large epaulettes and A-line skirts, all of which were getting lost in a swathe of glamorous fabrics, from the satin touches to the hints of denim and metallic lamé. And yes, it was all very shimmery, bright and candy-inspired!
If that didn’t remind you of Marc Jacob’s playful spirit, we don’t know what will! And with Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid victoriously strutting their fabulousness, how could anyone resist this finale?
