Round watches tend to sell better owing to its classic shape. Besides, round dials are more appealing owing to the familiarity of shape – the curvy and feminine circle evokes grace, resting elegantly on the wrist. In recent years, artisans have adopted intricate techniques and savoir-faire to embellish the dial with gems, diamonds, pearls, mother-of-pearl, embroidery and enamel. From the house of Boucheron comes the eye-catching Epure d’Art Tourbillon Adalia. Featuring a tiny red khepri, blossoms and leaves studded with gems and diamonds, the collection is an ode to nature. This year’s most artistic timepiece belongs to Chanel’s Mademoiselle Privé Coromandel collection. The series comprises five mesmerising works of art. We adore the blue kingfisher perched on a tree. Another glamorous watch is the Premier Precious Weaving Automatic. The Premier Collection from the House of Harry Winston features four artistic creations, which pay homage to a rare Japanese weaving technique wherein threads of gold are woven with slivers of mother-of-pearl.
