You say paisley, we say Etro! And boy was it oh-so true on a beautiful Italian afternoon, where Veronica Etro introduced her Spring-Summer 2017 collection in a whirlpool of boho-chic numbers with a tad of African injection. Picture long flowy dresses highlighted by vibrant tassel chords and overwhelming scarves covering the model’s shoulders. Picture patterned pants with suede patches on the inner-sides, beautifully matched with soft bralettes. The bohemian spirit reached the simplest of designs, from the A-line dresses with tribal pints to the satin wrap-dresses with stripes and the maxi dresses sensually covered by a grandiose cape.
Everything was highlighted by camel tones, be it on shoes or on belts and it was a strong nod to a Bohemian-meets-African theme. While it was surely a natural and obvious one, the designer was also burning the candles at both ends, bringing forth camel leather boots and tribal chokers- conveniently finished off with a black and white hanging medal. The neutral palette swayed ever so calmly from camel tones to white, yellow and blue hues, true to Etro’s moniker. After all, what’s a collection without its roots?
