Stockings: The Do’s And Don’ts

Let’s start from the most basic definition. What are stockings? Stockings are socks that cover up your toes all the way up to your legs and/or knees. But most importantly, stockings are a medium of trendiness, commonly used in winter not only to fight frostbites, but also to make a fashionable statement!

Meant to evoke some sort of sultriness, these playful socks are undoubtedly your-go to accoutrements this season! But wait, will you wear them with a skirt? A dress maybe? Or some loose shorts?

It’s only common courtesy to share with you, dearest readers, the do’s and don’ts of wearing stockings so read on and master your way to winter!

Do wear black knee-high stockings and pair them oh-so casually with a plaid skirt-jacket ensemble.

Don’t pair your stockings with denim shorts. Not only will it defeat its purpose, but it will also decrease your level of sophistication.

Don’t pull a schoolgirl look – unless you are a schoolgirl. Meaning, no short patterned skirts and ponytails.

Do wear a preppy romper with thigh-high socks and a stylish hat for a bohemian look!

Unless you want to look like a pixie girl, don’t mix over-the-knee stockings with a clinging mini-dress.

Do pair your stockings with high boots and let them peak out the top.

Don’t go all out with fishnet stockings. Ever.
