Vacheron Constantin – Overseas World Time
Considered an ideal travel companion, this watch has a center that features a 'Lambert' projection map depicting the continents and the oceans, along with a translucent lacquered disc bearing the city names. A third sapphire disc is laid over the map that provides day/night indications, synchronized with the 24-hour disc. In addition, its Caliber 2460WT is self-winding and offers 40-hours of power reserve.

A. Lange & Söhne – Datograph Perpetual Tourbillon
Limited to 100 pieces, this watch features the most iconic chronograph created by A. Lange & Söhne. Set against a 41.5 mm platinum case is a black solid-silver dial, creating a beautiful contrast. This masterpiece also includes the L952.2 movement with a caliber that consists of 729 parts.

Armin Strom – Tourbillon Skeleton Water
Celebrating the mechanical artistry of skeletonizing a tourbillon, this watch was definitely a technical challenge for Armin Strom. The PVD colorization of the main plate emphasizes the ATC11-S caliber’s layered construction. This manually-wound timepiece also features a 10-days power reserve.

Arnold & Son – Ultra-Thin Tourbillon Escapement Skeleton
A pure design sets this watch apart. In addition to a 90-hour power reserve, every possible part that could be skeletonized has been, and its skeleton movement allows for a better view of the gear train and other components.

A perfect example of incredible technical horology, this timepiece features a bi-directional seconds at 7 o’clock, as the seconds hand changes direction every 30 seconds

Kerbedanz – Polvs Arcticus, Double Tourbillon GMT
This watch, that reminds us through its Latin name of old maritime instruments, features the double tourbillon GMT KRB-07 caliber. Two hemispheres cover the northern and the southern tourbillons. The northern hemisphere of Earth seen from the pole emerges from a blue translucent backdrop in grand feu enamel, with the visible parts of the continents carved out of gold.

Louis Moinet – Sideralis
Limited to 28 pieces, this watch features the first and only Double Tourbillon with a function to power the watch’s complication. The latter comprises two titanium discs, one atop the other, driven by an inverted gear system. While the lower disc is hand-painted and depicts three heavenly bodies in the cosmos, the Moon, Mars and Mercury, the upper disc features a hand-painted constellation of stars and planets on a dark blue background, and displays the movement of the heavenly bodies by rotating once every 60 seconds.

Parmigiani – Tonda Chronor Anniversaire
This new watch celebrates the brand’s 20th anniversary. Limited to 50 pieces, it features a single movement system that includes the chronograph and other components such as the regulation system and gear train in a single mechanism. Mostly skeletonized, it offers an extremely rich view into its architecture from the rear of the watch.

Roger Dubuis – Excalibur 42 Automatic Carbon Skeleton
Besides the movement, this watch stands out by its carbon-made case. Asymmetrically designed, the movement leaves nothing to the imagination – as no part of it is hidden.

Rebellion – T-1000 Gotham 
Limited to 25 pieces, this watch exudes a sense of rebellion in all its parts. The unconventional case features a three-dimensional mechanical movement available in black, red, gold, blue and purple. In addition to a record power reserve of 40 days, this watch also features an Avional movement with patented hand-winding system and a black DLC titanium case.

Salon des Grandes Complications never ceases to make watch connoisseurs’ hearts beat, as every year intricate complications find their way to this much anticipated event and form an integral part of the world’s most ultra-luxe watches. Being the most difficult to design, create, assemble and repair, these complications are on the wish list of every watch collector in the world.

This year, Dubai will display some of the world’s most complicated watches at DIFC from November 7 to 10. In this third edition of the annual exhibition, numerous famed brands will showcase their creations and their show-stopping complications.
