Beauty Tip of The Week – Choosing Essential Brushes

Brushes! Without them our makeup is practically lost. But with so many brands and so many different brushes out there, it can get very confusing when it comes down to knowing and buying exactly what you need. As a makeup artist, I own practically every brush under the sun, but this is obviously not practical for everyday use. When it comes to my daily routine, I have narrowed it down to 5 essential brushes:

1. A foundation buffer brush is great for foundation application and blending it down to a smooth finish.

2. An angled cheek brush is excellent for contouring the face and giving definition to your jaw line. I love using this for bronzers.

3. An eye shading brush is perfect for the smooth application of eye shadow on your lids.

4. An eye blending brush is more on the fluffy side and it does so much. It blends your eye shadow, works as a good nose contour brush, and is also great for applying highlighter on your cheek bones.

5. An angled eye liner brush is ideal for applying your eye liner, be it shadow or cream, and also great for shading your eye brows. Check Sephora for some excellent pre-packed brush kits and essentials, or go through their individual options if you would rather create your own set.

Last but not least, always maintain your brushes by cleaning them with a good shampoo and brush cleanser.
