In channeling the exceptional aesthetic of Dior, the Maison has embarked on a Dior Lady Art Project by inviting artists to evoke their creative spirit onto the House’s iconic bag and small leather accessories. Starting off at first with London-based sculptor, designer and painter Marc Quinn, the House continued unto this glorious path by including six new British and American artists, from Jason Martin to Ian Davenport, Mat Collishaw, Matthew Porter, Daniel Gordon and Chris Martin. The state-of-the-art masterpieces are pegged as a symbol of the artists’ pure ingenuity, who have transposed their universe unto the Dior canvas. The unique projects are now unveiled in the Miami Boutique, in a Los Angeles pop-up store, in Korea, London, China, Dubai and Paris and the pieces will be available at the Dior Mall of The Emirates Boutique starting December 8th.
Artist Chris Martin, who channeled his own previous drawing of a frog unto the Lady Dior small as well as a series of small leather goods and accessories, talks about the project in an exclusive interview. We leave the rest for you to watch!
