It has been alive for 25 years, continuously embodying youth in playful ways. Hermès Cape Cod timepiece is not only celebrating its 25th birthday this year, but also the timeless youthfulness that it represents by keeping track of time.
This watch is unique in its own way, as it was born from Henri d’Origny’s desire of inventing the design of a square dial that finds its place at the heart of a rectangular case. This one-of-a-kind aesthetic made the Cape Cod a globally renowned element in the world of watchmaking. Martin Margiela’s interpretation of the timepiece’s design made it an even more powerful icon, as for his first Hermès runway show in 1998 he added a double-wrap strap to it, known today as the “Double Tour”.
In celebration of this occasion, the watch ends the year of 2016 with several new models. A new gemsetting technique and a new mother-of-pearl dial come alive in the Cape Cod 2016 version, while for men this timepiece sees a cuff-style wristband. With a variety of interchangeable single and double wrap-around straps entirely handmade in vibrant colors, you can choose your favorite color according to your mood – from electric blue to iris, capucine, Veronesse green, ultraviolet, tomato red and others.
Finally, you just have to choose your favorite fine stone dial – onyx or lapis lazuli – or stick to the red dial that comes with the white calfskin version or white dial that comes with the red goatskin version to own the talisman that will accompany you through all your special moments and adventures.
