Strong yet feminine, powerful yet vulnerable, intense but soft and gentle at the same time are all emotions to describe Gucci’s newest scent Gucci Bamboo. I sprayed my first spritz of it on my wrist and immediately knew this was going to be my summer fragrance.

First off, my fiancé kept asking when is the perfume coming out, as it smelt so nice. Besides his instant reaction to it, I loved how soft and romantic it was. Almost like a nostalgic feeling of young summer nights. If I had only one word to describe this scent it would be feminine. It is a sweet, lovely and very girly fragrance. It sounds very innocent and pure but at the same time it also has presence. It's not overpowering yet it definitely makes a statement. 

Why Bamboo? The reason why Gucci called this fragrance Bamboo, besides their signature bamboo accessories, was the power of bamboo in the forest. Bamboo grows in extreme conditions. It is naturally so powerful that it is even compared to steel. Slender and elegant, bamboo soars over other vegetation. What does this make you think of? The modern Gucci woman who is strong and confident yet remains in touch with her femininity. Also like the bamboo, a woman has many sides to her personality.

The fragrance Gucci Bamboo captures the essence of a woman and her many facets: femininity, confidence, savvy and strength. It's almost as if you can smell every facet when you smell the fragrance, you smell something different. The free-spirited woman embodied in the perfume tells her story through it.

My first question was, “What is it made of?” Usually I can pinpoint the types of flowers used but this fragrance has a mysterious edge to it. The sandalwood gives it that warm, woody strong side while the Tahitian Vanilla and Amber adds a feminine touch. I take another whiff and this time notice the soft Casablanca Lily a well as the perfect summer note (and main one in this case), Orange Blossom and delicate Ylang Ylang. 

The bottle also makes for a strong visual statement. It has the iconic Gucci look with its bold cap made to mimic the shape of the bamboo plant. Strong and multifaceted on the outside, soft and feminine on the inside GUCCI BAMBOO captures the essence of a liberated, confident modern woman.

Counting down the days until its release in July. For all those summer brides, this could be the perfect scent for your big day.
