Amidst the fury of watchmakers in Geneva, Swiss watch manufacturer IWC Schaffhausen took glory in the arrival of its new Da Vinci collection in the presence of nearly a thousand VIP guests such as Adriana Lima, Rosamund Pike and James Marsden- amongst others. With the theme of “Decoding the Beauty of Time” reigning over the evening, British comedy star Rob Brydon hosted the gala, accompanied by a bright performance from Danish singer MØ.

Adding to the beauty of the evening, CEO Georges Kern passed the torch on to his successor Christoph Grainger-Herr, while a short film featuring Kevin Spacey highlighted Kern’s brilliant 15-year watchmaking career. But perhaps the most exciting part of the soirée remains in the staged holographic show - featuring actor Joseph Mawle- which presented Leonardo da Vinci’s scientific-meets-aesthetic vision. Several IWC brand ambassadors visited the fair before attending the evening, witnessing the new collection installed in a booth designed in the style of an Italian palazzo with a three-dimensional “Flower of Life” as a centerpiece.

“The new collection is a modern interpretation of the iconic Da Vinci design from the 1980s. Along with its Haute Horlogerie innovations, the collection once more includes references that have been designed deliberately with women in mind – as is indicated by various features such as smaller case diameters, moving strap horns, diamond-set bezels and leather straps by Santoni in various colors,” stated Georges Kern, CEO of IWC Schaffhausen.
