Watching Elie Saab's Fall'14 couture merited a "kaleidoscope effect" appropriately derived from the Ancient Greeks as, 'the observation of beautiful forms". The collection was inspired by majestic Parisian interiors that with their wooden paneled floors under high ceilings and glittering chandeliers, have a magical ability to change shades throughout the day. The headlights at the show illuminated the rich, lush embroidery and meticulous craftsmanship.

This illusion combined with iridescent surfaces of pearls inspired Saab to create a collection that worked in perfect harmony with these multi-faceted reflections. Notable pieces included opulently embellished off the shoulder evening gowns, the Saab signature, heavily adorned sequins, also his trademark- yet there remained delicate lightness in all, a trick he's mastered in the art of evening wear. Dresses were gently kissed by shimmer and shine and a sporty V-neck beaded black dress was a refreshing surprise to this dreamy collection.

It's cuts like this that inject a youthful and contemporary spirit in his collections, which admittedly Saab could use a pinch more of. Classic Saab design codes continue to reign fierce at the Lebanese fashion house and he remains a day dreamer amongst a pool of designers that are becoming increasingly realistic and literal. His ability to transport his audience to a fairytale-like state warrants great applause. Author Madhavi Sood claims, 'those who dare to dream are sure to catch the sunlight's beam'. She must've predicted this very collection.
