Get your eye liner game on with a twist this season. Forget about perfecting your line and wing, as this time it's all about imperfection, smudge, and smut!

Our favorite colors to use are obviously Blacks and Grays, but experimenting with navy blues, browns and deep maroons are a must.

The key tip here is not the color as much as the application technique - this specific eye makeup should be imperfect, smudgy and smoked, and here are a few tips and tools you will need:

1. Use a good eye base to prep the eye lid.

2. Use one color of your choice for the look. Apply a small amount on your eye lid with your brush then gently tap your eye lid to smudge up the product using, believe it or not, your fingers! Your fingers are a very handy tool when it comes to certain make up applications.

3. Using an eye smudging brush or pencil brush, begin to smudge and smoke the same color under the lash line.

4. Line your water line with a fine eye pencil, nothing too dark or harsh in order to allow a nice contrast between your eye kohl and shadow.

5. Top it off with a good mascara, and leave the lips looking natural and fresh!
