Beauty Tip of the Week – Rock that 90s chic

If you were a makeup fan in the 90s, or simply a 90s fan in general, you will be happy to know that some of the most happening makeup trends of the grunge and supermodel era are now back, and we are loving them.

This time around, the idea is to take elements from the 90’s beauty scene and choose one or two of them to add to our look.

We will break down the top looks here!

Skin: Back then, matte was the texture of choice for skin, eyes, and practically everything, but this time we’re keeping skin out of it! Keep the skin fresh and healthy, with a good foundation matching your skin color.

Eyes: Earth tones and neutrals are everything here. And yes, matte! Plenty of eyeshadow palettes are available in matte and neutrals, and these work perfectly for a 90s finish. No cat eyes, and no wings!

Lips: Matte! Thanks to most make up brands being on trend, they have launched a number of lipstick collections revolving around the matte story. The good news is, lipstick formulas available today are more advanced providing extra smoothness and moisture while delivering a matte finish. No more dry, cracked lips! Plus, matte textures stay put all day. Colors are also neutral, earthy, and sometimes on the darker Burgundy side.

Lipliner: This was, and still is everything! Try applying a lipliner sans lipstick! A natural tone slightly close to your lip color. “Lipliner and go” (without lipstick), was a popular look in the 90s, and is totally rocking its way back with a vengeance! Add some gloss in the center of the lips. Why? Well, just because!
