Though tomboys and hipsters might not be impressed by Jenny Packham’s s/s15 collection, socialites and upper-east siders will be blown away.
When your opening look is a pastel pink dress embroidered with silver beads, then you know exactly what type of woman you are catering to. Who else but a queen would wear sanguine red bejeweled dresses or lace pink tunics?
The overly feminine collection had a certain seventies seasoning. Off the shoulder dresses were paired with cat-eyed shades and pointy-collared maroon jumpsuits were waist-belted and embellished. When it wasn’t the seventies, it was the fifties with black-and-white satin bonbon dresses and white pencil skirts.
Whether Packham looked to the past or the future for inspiration is unclear. What was certain though is that the label designed for a certain timeless woman who radiates grace.
