The sun might still be shining, but anyone who lives, eats and breathes fashion is getting mentally ready for next season. What will they wear? What hats will they stroll around with? But most of all, what shoes will they make a statement in?

Well, according to the Fall/Winter 2017-2018 runway, the new trend designers are pushing is very glitzy! The gist of it? Twinkles, sparkles, rhinestones and a whole lot of sparks. Forget about your average leather or suede shoes; if you want to make a statement in this day and age, wear shimmery shoes- and own it. And since there’s been a move away from the standard pumps towards embellished ones, one might just wonder, why not follow suit?

The trick is to find the right balance between your shoes and your outfit. Since there’s always a thin line between trendy and tacky, one should always keep in mind that balance is key. Whether the end goal is to avoid cringing when you look back at your fashionable choices or to simply rise above simplicity, the answer is always: do it right.
