Yes, fringes are cool again. But they don’t necessarily mean that you’re on your way to Coachella – unless you are, then we’re not here to judge. You might automatically think of a festival attire, but here’s where you’re wrong; there are some ways to give fringes a go without looking like you just left a seventies’ themed photoshoot. And while we’re at it, allow us to correct another misconception. No, fringes and suede are not the only two things that go hand in hand. Au contraire, these subtle embellishments can add a thing or two to your whole clothing department.

In serious need of texture? Go for fringes! Looking for this je ne sais quoi? Embrace fringes! And they don’t even have to invade your clothes, they can also take part of your shoes, bags and much, much more. The trick here is to pair your fringed items with pared-down clothes, so as to avoid going down the “seventies” road. Also, keep in mind that balance is key; if you’re wearing a fringed skirt, lay off fringed shoes and go for something far more subtle instead.

Sift through the Photo Gallery below to view some of our best fringed numbers. Happy shopping!
