Gucci returned to New York City with GucciCore, a new presentation staged in Times Square that celebrates the House’s long relationship with the city. Gucci first opened a store outside Italy in New York in 1953, and the new project serves as a homecoming inspired by the energy and diversity of the city.
Designed by Demna, GucciCore combines influences from across New York, bringing together tailoring, eveningwear, technical outerwear and signature House codes into a wearable, modern wardrobe unmistakably rooted in Gucci’s heritage. The collection features a rich mix of textures and silhouettes, from plush leather duvet stoles, technical reversible coats and soft tailoring paired with slouchy denim, to embellished eveningwear adorned with croc-scale sequins, feather embroidery and beaded fringes, while the iconic Horsebit detail appeared on sharply structured boots and luxurious handbags finished in deep inky tones and jewel-like patinas.
