Tod’s Fall/Winter 2026-2027: The New Language of Italian Craft

Matteo Tamburini turns Tod’s artisanal heritage into a sharper, softer and decidedly modern wardrobe.

At Tod’s, heritage gets a new silhouette. For Fall/Winter 2026-2027, Matteo Tamburini takes the codes of Italian luxury – exceptional leather, saddlery, precision and hand-finishing – and gives them a more directional fashion attitude. The result is a wardrobe built on contrasts: oversized against fitted, polished against raw, masculine tailoring against fluid femininity, and timeless signatures pushed into new proportions.

Leather is the collection’s ultimate fashion material, appearing everywhere from sculpted outerwear to softly draped trousers and skirts. Supple aged calfskin gives a quilted bomber a luxurious nonchalance, while the trench and peacoat are sharpened through couture-like construction and defined waists. The silhouette moves between enveloping volume and precise definition, creating a distinctly modern tension. Pashmy calfskin brings another level of sensuality: light, silky and almost fluid, it transforms the traditional weight of leather into something surprisingly effortless.

The styling feels equally fresh. Foulard dresses are disrupted by graphic patchwork, while the season’s palette of burnt caramel, ginger and chocolate gives the collection a rich, autumnal sensuality, cut through with graphic flashes of black and white. The effect is polished but never precious – luxury designed to move.

The accessories sharpen the collection’s fashion proposition. Tod’s iconic bags are treated not as static house signatures but as evolving objects. The T Signature Bag shifts between nappa, aged calfskin and pony, while the Di Bag returns in a new bowling shape that feels particularly relevant to the season’s relaxed, sophisticated attitude. The Wave Bag is punctuated by saddlery-inspired topstitching, bringing a tactile, almost equestrian edge to its familiar architecture.

Shoes remain central to the Tod’s identity. The signature loafer is given a rounder, softer toe and explored in supple leather, pony and animal prints, turning a classic into a more expressive styling piece. The ankle boot introduces a stronger silhouette through its saddlery-inspired strap, while the Gommino Sneaker delivers the season’s most effortless proposition, combining flexible suede with refined materials.

Even the smallest details carry fashion significance. The Gommino’s iconic shape becomes a metallic motif across accessories, while slim belts are personalized with tiny metal letters that can be arranged as initials. It is a subtle but compelling shift from logo to identity – an accessory that becomes personal rather than simply recognizable.

Behind the collection is an unmistakable respect for the hand: coral and cameo carving, embroidery, goldsmithing, stucco and fan-making all become part of a wider celebration of Italian craftsmanship.

This is Tod’s heritage without the museum glass. For Fall/Winter 2026-2027, Tamburini makes craftsmanship feel tactile, desirable and fashion-forward – proof that the most enduring luxury can still move with the times.
