If it’s retro-fashion impact you’re after, than Erdem Moralioglu is your go-to designer. It’s not only his knack for all-things ancient that we love, but it’s rather his ability to deliver romance to the contemporary woman, armed with only talent, experimental textiles and unabashed craftsmanship. This season, the Canadian designer brought forth a series of brocade pieces gently mixed with polka dot tights, alongside a slew of lavish pantsuits and his staple dark floral dresses.

Along came jewel-toned velvet slip dresses to instill the collection with a contemporary twist and brocade coats to remind us of the designer’s impeccable touch. Moralioglu offered romantic dresses upholstered with sheer polka dot sleeves at times, and one-shouldered cropped bodices with high-waisted trousers at other times. Erdem’s collection was diversified and featured fur coats, belted sweeping dresses and to-die-for metallic pieces – from midi dresses to ankle-grazing skirts, channeling the striking power of dark romance.
