I remember the first time the ophthalmologist told me I had to wear glasses – I really think I cried my eyes out. Back then, wearing optical glasses at such a young age meant social suicide, not to mention a series of years struggling in the swimming pool since lenses were clearly not an option.

Fast forward to today, I can’t tell you how many times I have spotted kids wearing stylish opticals – and wait for it – without actually needing them. Which made me think; are glasses really a thing now? Next thing you know, Kendall Jenner was caught on cam wearing optical aviators, alongside a series of other celebrities donning retro glasses – Hi John Lennon!
