“Whatever you do – for work or pleasure – do it with passion! Live with passion!” If there is one thing that guided the great Christian Dior throughout his career, it’s this maxim. Inspired by this love of life, Victoire de Castellane designed the new “Tête de Mort” jewelry collection by reinterpreting the Latin sayings “Momento Mori” and “Carpe Diem”, with both reminding us to live each moment to the fullest.

This theme goes back to 2001, as it debuted in the “La Fiancée du Vampire” collection. It then reappeared in the twenty high jewelry creations of 2009 with ten “queen” rings and ten “king” pendants gathered under one collection entitled “Reines et Rois” that illustrates the permanence of jewelry as compared with the fragility of human existence. In 2013, the “Tête de Mort” high jewelry collection continued this story pushing back the limits of know-how in the Dior ateliers. And this year, the French house unveils six swooning new “Tête de Mort” pieces.

Three rings and necklaces bring together yellow gold with amethyst and tsavorites garnets, and white gold with blue chalcedony – highlighting the new enigma behind the choices of colors. While the deep blue of chalcedony represents the strength, peace is characterized by the powdery rose of quartz and balance by the delicate violet of amethyst.
